Question: How much does bankruptcy cost?

Question: If I file for bankruptcy, can I keep my house?

 

Answer: Depending on the chapter in which you file under, you may be able to keep your house. Ask your interviewing attorney at your first free consultation for more details.

 

Question: Will filing bankruptcy stop my garnishment?

 

Answer: Yes. 

 

Question: Are student loans, tickets, child support and back taxes dischargeable?

 

Answer: Typically most of these are not able to be included in bankruptcy, but for more clarity, ask your Kostopoulos & Associates attorney for additional details.

 

Question: Which chapter of bankruptcy is best for me?

 

Answer: The chapter of bankruptcy in which you are able to file is dependent on a variety of variables. Income, debt, and assets are among the the primary factors that will determine which chapter is best for you.

 

Question: How long does bankruptcy take until completion?

 

Answer: This varies from case to case and is dependent on the complexities of your case. Chapter 7 bankruptcy is typically a three month process, while Chapter 13 takes between three and five years until completion. 

 

Question: What will I need at my first consultation?

 

Answer: At your first consultation, you will need to bring your most recent bills, paystubs and bank statements. In addition, you will need to fill out our intake form. You may fill this out in our office, or if you wish to save time you can download, print and complete the intake form before your appointment.  

 

Question: Can you protect my assets?

 

Answer: We will do our best to protect the items that you have worked hard for, and that are rightfully yours! These are a few of the items we are able to protect in Bankruptcy:

Question: I'm married, does my spouse have to file bankrupty with me?
